In a wide-ranging interview, Michael Keaton discussed his career, his friendship with Jack Nicholson, and his decision to nearly pass on “Beetlejuice”.

Career Risks

Keaton said he has always been willing to take risks in his career, even if it meant turning down big roles. He said he turned down the role of Batman in Tim Burton’s 1989 film because he didn’t think he was right for the part. He also said he turned down the role of Forrest Gump in the 1994 film because he didn’t think he could do the role justice.

Jack Nicholson

Keaton said he has a close friendship with Jack Nicholson, who he met on the set of the 1989 film “Batman”. He said Nicholson is a great mentor and friend, and he has learned a lot from him. He also said Nicholson is a very generous person, and he has often helped Keaton out in his career.

“Beetlejuice”

Keaton said he nearly passed on the role of Beetlejuice in the 1988 film because he didn’t think he was right for the part. He said he was afraid he would not be able to do the role justice. However, he said he is glad he decided to do the role, as it is one of his favorite roles.

Keaton said he is proud of the work he has done in his career, and he is grateful for the opportunities he has been given. He said he is looking forward to continuing to work in the film industry for many years to come.
