Boeing's Starliner Set for Launch: A Comprehensive Guide

Launch Details

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is scheduled to lift off at 10:52 ET (15:52 BST) from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The launch will mark a significant milestone in the development of the spacecraft, which is designed to transport astronauts to and from the International Space Station (ISS).

Previous Flights

Starliner has previously completed two uncrewed orbital flights. In December 2019, it conducted a test flight to and from the ISS. In 2022, it successfully performed a pad abort demonstration, showcasing its ability to safely return to Earth in the event of an emergency.

Rocket and Launch Vehicle

Starliner will be launched atop a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket. The Atlas V is a proven launch vehicle that has successfully delivered numerous payloads into orbit. Today, the rocket and spacecraft were rolled out to the pad at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Joint Venture and Collaboration

The Atlas V rocket is operated by ULA, a joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin. This collaboration highlights the strong partnership between two leading aerospace companies in the development and launch of spacecraft.
